What we know about you, and why.
ShelfHunt is run by Binared Ltd (company no. 11176824), Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. We're the "data controller" — the ones responsible for looking after your information. Questions? Email [email protected].
What we collect
When you use our Telegram bot, we store:
- Your Telegram ID, username and first name — so we know who to message.
- The product links you send us and the products you're watching.
- Your finds, points and rank — the record of what you've spotted.
That's it. No email address, no phone number, no payment details, no location.
What we use it for
- Sending you the restock alerts you asked for.
- Giving you credit (and points) when you spot something first.
- Spotting abuse — like bots filing fake reports.
Legally speaking: we process this data to provide the service you signed up for (contract), and to keep the service fair and working (legitimate interests). We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Where it lives, and who sees it
- Cloudflare hosts our service and database (stored in Western Europe). They process data on our behalf.
- Telegram delivers our messages to you — your use of Telegram is covered by Telegram's own privacy policy.
- If you're first to spot a find, your Telegram username (or first name) is shown on the alert other watchers receive — that's the public credit the service is built on.
This website
The site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics scripts. One setting (your chosen colour theme) is remembered in your own browser and never sent to us.
How long we keep it
As long as you use ShelfHunt. Stock history for products is kept indefinitely (it powers restock predictions), but it isn't tied to you once your account is deleted.
Your rights — the short version
Send /stop to the bot to stop all alerts instantly. Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or have it deleted — we'll do it within a month, usually much faster. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you through the bot before it takes effect.
